Rooftop Photovoltaic Project

Astronergy won 2 MW PV roof project is located in Hangzhou Energy and the Environment Industrial Park through a competitive and selective bidding process. The project is fully financed by the China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation, and Zhejiang Province’s first large-scale in-grid PV plants.

Industrial park located at the northeast corner of the city of Hangzhou, an area of 23.8 square kilometers. Green roofs Science and Technology Hall will be the first to enter the building-integrated PV (BIPV) technology. Astronergy high efficiency tandem thin film PV modules with light transmission rate of 30% will be used for the Hall of 58 square meters roof. This thin PV modules are also very resistant to harsh climatic conditions such as strong winds and heavy rain. Energy Conservation Hall on the other side of the industrial park will also use high efficiency Astronergy thin film PV modules in buildings 265 square meters curved wall.

Astronergy will design and install the entire project with a combination of crystalline silicon-based modules and high efficiency tandem thin film PV modules. This project will be completed by September 30th 2009.

The Chinese government proposed program Golden Sun July 22, 2009 to financially support the growth and development of domestic markets and the PV industry. Under this policy, the government plans to finance at least 500 MW PV at various stations and projects in two to three year timeline.

“This program will create many good opportunities like this project to show Astronergy revolutionary new thin film technology, which will help us to differentiate ourselves and to establish our position in the industry,” said Dr. Liyou Yang, CEO Astronergy.
